Location

The Cottage is situated on the Mawddach Estuary within Snowdonia National Park. With stunning views across the estuary, at high tide the water laps against the terrace wall. It is amazingly private, with only one near neighbour. The SSSI across the estuary ensures excellent opportunities for bird watching from the cottage windows or terrace. It is off the main Dolgellau to Barmouth Road (A496). Dolgellau is a small market town, the local shops are focused round the historic town square, coffee shops, butchers, chemists, bakers, grocers and greengrocers make it a welcoming and useful shopping area. There is a tourist information centre as well as craft and gift shops. There are several great places to eat and, on a practical note, there are also two supermarkets. Barmouth is right on the coast with a fantastic beach. It has more of a resort feel than Dolgellau with plenty of shops and places to eat. Fish and Chips being available in several places. Barmouth station is on the Cambrian line with a rail service to Birmingham New Street. - Dolgellau 4 miles - Barmouth 6 miles
